Maj Spencer
Acute low back pain is defined as pain that is present for less than six weeks. In many cases, acute low back pain will resolve itself in just a few days, and most people will not even feel the need to seek medical care.

When people do seek medical care for their acute back pain, diagnosis usually focuses on medical history and a physical examination. Treatment can be as simple as taking over-the-counter pain relievers, or it can involve physical therapy intervention.
